The sign is supposed to mean "pls wait behind the 1 meter mark".
Instead of translating 米 as "1 meter", they have translated the 米线 together, which means rice-flour noodle...

June 2011: Found this at a petrol station/restaurant in Melbourne on our way into the Snowy Mountains. They got bolognaise right, but couldn't spell pasta??!
